The Chinese International
Adoption process has
distinct advantages when compared to
domestic adoption and international adoption at large.
Exceptional Health
In comparison to other underdeveloped countries, the overall
health of Chinese orphans is exceptional. Neither Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome nor Syphilis is problematic in this country. And, due
to the placement of children at a relatively young age (8-11
months), Bonding and Attachment Disorder issues are less common
than in countries where children are institutionalized for long
periods of time.
Custody is Final
The China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), China's
governmental body, oversees all adoptions. The status of each
child being orphaned or abandoned is carefully screened before
securing adoption eligibility. Abandoned children are given such
status upon completion of a thorough search for the birth
parents, as instituted by the Civil Affairs Bureau in China.
Because of this scrutiny there is never a threat of a
birthparent seeking custody of the adopted child in the future.
Only One Trip to China
Required
Unlike other countries which require multiple visits to the child's
birth country, China completes the adoption in only one visit. The
child is not separated from her new parents from the moment she is
placed in their arms. Chinese adoption paperwork is then completed
while still in the child's province, at which point the Chinese
Government officially recognizes it as a valid, completed adoption.
Shortly after, the new family travels to the US Consulate in
Guangzhou where they complete the last steps necessary to finalize
the adoption for the United States Government. Business activity in
both provinces is usually completed in approximately 13-17 days.

In China,Adoption Is Final
If both parents travel to China to receive their child, the adoption
becomes finalized within the country. The parents are recognized as
legal adoptive parents upon completion of paperwork in their child's
province. The child is legally and forever theirs.
Ethical Adoption Process & Reasonable Fees
The People's Republic of China has an established, reliable adoption
process. The fee structure is accurate and comparatively reasonable.
China will only partner with approved, fully licensed, non-profit
adoption agencies and will not facilitate adoptions with private
individuals or attorneys. This eliminates the possibility for any
unscrupulous or unqualified adoption proceedings. One of the
advantages in adopting from China is that there are no hidden costs
in the monies payable for the adoption proceedings in the country.
Our agency has never received reports of black market activities or
bribes requested in order to complete the adoption; the fees stated
are the fees actually charged.
Increasing Popularity
The strong attributes of Chinese international adoption have
elevated China's status to being the most popular country for
inter-country adoption at this time. The delightful outcome is that
the number of Chinese-American children in the US is on the rise. An
ever-growing population of Chinese-Americans increases the
prevalence of diversified communities and new support groups for
such families.
Program Stability
The Chinese international adoption program is one of the best
available. Unlike many foreign countries that suspend their adoption
programs or shut down completely, China has maintained a relatively
steady program for many years. They are able to maintain this
stability due to the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), who
oversees all Chinese adoptions. Orphanages and adoption agencies
alike must be approved by and registered with the CCAA in order to
place children in adoptive homes. Living Hope is an established
agency that is both approved by and registered with the CCAA.
Many Children Need A Loving Home Healthy
children, both boys and girls, are available for adoption in China
and they are generally well cared for. Though there may be some
developmental delays, Chinese children catch up quickly once they
receive the undivided attention of a loving family. Chinese children
are available from as young as 6 months through 14 years of age, but
the average age of placement is 8-11 months. Approximately 95% of
the available children are girls, but Chinese boys are available for
adoption as well.
Waiting Children, those with various medical conditions, are also
available for adoption. The CCAA has entrusted our agency to
facilitate the placing of these precious special needs children who
are in critical need of a loving home. Click the link, if you would

Children.
Safe Travel
Conditions
Unlike many parts of the world, China is a relatively safe place for
Americans to travel. The Chinese government is supportive of foreign
travelers and does their best to discourage any safety threats.
